Melanie was born in New Jersey and moved to Charleston after graduating college. Melanie received her undergraduate degree from Kutztown University where she was a member of the women's soccer program. She received her law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Melanie is a dedicated and experienced attorney who helps clients navigate a wide range of legal issues — from contract disputes, to construction defects and injury claims. She takes pride in guiding clients through every step of the litigation process, whether it’s drafting key motions, handling depositions, negotiating settlements, or preparing for trial.

Before joining Closser Law, she worked at a national personal injury firm, managing a high-volume caseload from start to finish.  There, she built strong skills in case investigation and negotiation, working closely with clients to help them reach the best possible outcomes.  She also spent time as in-house counsel for a hospitality group, where she advised on contracts, employment issues, compliance, and real estate matters — giving her a well-rounded view of how legal decisions impact businesses on the ground.

When she's not practicing law, Melanie enjoys staying active and soaking up everything Charleston has to offer. You can often find her playing soccer, spending time at the beach, catching live music, or enjoying good food and company with friends.
